ABOUT IRONBARK EV

Queensland EV Charger Wholesaler

Bridging the gap between electric vehicle ambition and practical infrastructure delivery across Australia

Our Origin & Purpose

Ironbark EV is a 100% Queensland-owned business, proudly based in Queensland — Australia's Sunshine State. With abundant solar resources, strong renewable energy potential and a rapidly growing electric vehicle market, Queensland provides an ideal foundation for the development of sustainable transport and charging infrastructure.

The idea for Ironbark EV was formed during a business trip overseas, where members of the founding team spent time in regions with significantly higher electric vehicle adoption than Australia. In these markets, charging infrastructure was not treated as a future aspiration, but as an essential part of everyday life — present in shopping precincts, car parks, workplaces, streetscapes and residential developments. Charging infrastructure was ubiquitous, visible, and seamlessly integrated into the built environment.

By contrast, returning to Australia highlighted a clear disconnect. While electric vehicle technology was rapidly improving and consumer interest was increasing, the supporting charging infrastructure was not developing at the same pace. It became evident that widespread EV adoption would not occur organically or independently — it would require deliberate, sustained investment in charging infrastructure deployed ahead of, and alongside, vehicle uptake.

Our Founding Principle

Ironbark EV was established in response to this opportunity. The business was founded with the recognition that charging infrastructure is not merely a supporting asset, but a critical enabler of electric vehicle adoption. For EVs to scale meaningfully across Australia, charging solutions must be reliable, accessible, commercially viable, and integrated into existing energy systems.

Expertise & Background

The founding team behind Ironbark EV brings extensive experience across renewable energy, electrification, energy infrastructure and large-scale supply into commercial, industrial and government environments. This background shaped the business from inception, with a clear focus on delivering solutions that are practical, compliant, and capable of operating at scale within real-world constraints.

During the early development of Ironbark EV, an opportunity emerged to work directly with major publicly listed manufacturers operating at the forefront of the global new-energy sector. These manufacturers specialise in electric vehicle charging systems, battery technologies, inverters and renewable power solutions spanning solar, wind, wave, off-grid and remote applications.

Direct collaboration with manufacturers operating in mature international markets provided valuable insight into how charging infrastructure can be deployed effectively, economically and at scale. Ironbark EV was created to translate these learnings into the Australian context.

Integrated Capability

Ironbark EV's operations are underpinned by integrated capability across engineering, quality systems, finance, logistics and business operations. This allows the business to manage technical and compliance requirements alongside commercial and delivery considerations, ensuring charging solutions are fit-for-purpose, scalable and aligned with Australian conditions.

Strategic Focus

The business operates with a strong emphasis on expanding public and commercial charging capacity nationwide, with Queensland playing a central role in this growth. A particular focus is placed on integrating EV charging infrastructure with renewable energy systems, enabling electric vehicles to utilise excess on-site solar generation in residential, commercial and industrial environments.

This capability is especially relevant in a state with high solar penetration and strong renewable energy potential. By combining insights gained from mature international EV markets with Queensland's renewable energy strengths and a disciplined, compliance-driven approach, Ironbark EV plays an active role in enabling the charging networks required to support Australia's evolving transport and energy landscape.
